On Thursday, the 21st January the proceeds of the Bakwena Superclassic cycle race (held in November 2009) were handed over to the CANSA Association in the form of a cheque for R100 000 as well as a cheque for R10 000 which was handed over to Reach for a Dream Foundation.
Bakwena held its fifth successful annual cycle race on Sunday the 8th November 2009. Proceeds raised from the race entries were donated to CANSA and the Reach for a Dream Foundation. CANSA is an organisation that provides invaluable support to cancer sufferers and relies on the donations and support of the public. The Reach for a Dream Foundation enriches ill children’s lives by making dreams come true and as a result distracting them from the needles, medication and hospital environment that they endure on a regular basis.
Bakwena, would like to thank Nedbank Capital and the South African Post Office as well as all other sponsors which included SANRAL, Pt Operational Services, Netcare 911, Road Mac Surfacing, Tollreach, Aurecon, AIG, Dischem, Renault and Webber Wentzel Bowens, as without their generous contributions this race would not have been a success.
The next Bakwena Superclassic race takes place on the 7th November 2010 – diarize it now and join us for another day of cycling fun.
