Bakwena N1N4 toll road hosted its eighth annual charity golf day at the Irene Country Club on Thursday 27t h October and successfully raised an astounding R246 300, thanks to the support of Bakwena’s valuable stakeholders.
Charmaine van Wyk, spokesperson for Bakwena, says, “Without the generous support and participation from ourstakeholders,thisgolfdaywouldnothavebeenasuccess. Thebeneficiariesofthegolfdayareselected on criteria that is aligned to our corporate social initiative goals”
Thusanang Early Learning Centre, Pink Drive, Wheel Well, CANSA, Laudium Cansa Care and Mohau House were selected as beneficiaries of the funds raised by this year’s golf day.
As custodians of the N1N4 toll, Bakwena makes use of our relationships with government and industry stakeholders to help uplift communities along our route by forging working relationships with government departments and engaging in partnerships with industry stakeholders and local social reform bodies. With this support, Bakwena is able to assist public and private institutions working towards social upliftment by running educational events and programmes for disadvantaged individuals around road safety, life skills, environmental awareness and entrepreneurial development.
