Mantsole Traffic Control Centre Load Control Information
The management of the Mantsole Traffic Control Centre on the N1 wishes to bring the following important information regarding a change in the Operating Procedures, as a result of amendments to Part 29 of the National Prosecutors Manual to the attention of all Heavy Vehicle Operators and Drivers.As from 15th June 2006 all vehicles detected as exceeding, by 2% or more, the permissible maximum vehicle mass (Regulation 236), and/or the permissible maximum combination mass (Regulation 237) and/or the mass-load carrying capacity of bridges (Regulation 241) as determined in terms of the National Road Traffic Act, will be prosecuted and required to rectify the load to within the legal limits (in this instance a 0% grace will be applicable).
All overloaded vehicles will be detained in the holding yard at Mantsole until the load has been rectified to the requirements of the Road Traffic Act and its Regulations.
