Why do we have to pay tolls when we pay our taxes?
- The user pay principal allows for roads to be provided sooner than traditional tax based revenues.

Why is Bakwena allowed to make profits?
- Bakwena is providing a substantial service in building, operating and maintaining the road.
- The profit to be made by the Bakwena shareholders has been pegged at a market-related level, any profit over and above this figure will be progressively shared with SANRAL.
What will the toll tariffs I pay be used for?
The toll fees collected will be allocated to the commitments Bakwena made in approximately the following proportions:
- Initial construction works 22%
- Future construction works 18%
- Operation and maintenance 17%
- Services and fees 10%
- Interest payments 33%
